GENERATIONS is a documentary that will follow four World War II veterans, their sons, and their grandsons back to the beaches and countrysides on which they fought over 60 years ago when they were the same age their grandchildren are now.
There, the veterans will tell the stories of honor, sacrifice, and courage to their sons and grandsons for whose freedom they fought to preserve so many years ago.
GENERATIONS is an attempt to connect the story and legacy of “The Greatest Generation” with the “Baby-Boomer”, “Gen-Y”, and “Millenial” Generations. It is a time capsule, a memorial, and, simply, an attempt to say “Thank you” to the entire World War II generation.
1,000 World War II veterans are dying every day. This is the last opportunity we have to tell this powerful story and to remind the Future of this courageous past once and for all.
We, the filmmakers, are Gen-Y men and women in our mid-20s, and this is our way of saying “thank you” to The Greatest Generation and also a way of saying, “We will remember, and we will honor the freedom you have handed down to us.” |

This past December we filmed the Pearl Harbor segment of Generations. We are still looking for three veterans (and one son and grandson each) who fought at either Iwo Jima, Battle of the Bulge, or Normandy. If you (or someone you know) would be interested in re-visiting your old battleground with your son and grandson, please send a brief bio of yourself, updated photos, and what makes your war stories interesting to generations@generationsfilm.org. Please title your email either “Iwo Jima”, “Battle of the Bulge”, or “Normandy”, so that we can organize your stories accordingly.
